If you have reason to believe that a child is being abused...
Do not press the child for more information than he or she wants to give. However, let the child know that it is OK for he or she to talk about the abuse with you. Thank the child for sharing the information and tell the child that you will help. Then call the Child Abuse Hotline or law enforcement. Child Abuse Hotline: The Illinois Child Abuse Hotline operates 24 hours per day, every day. If you believe a child is being abused or has been abused, speak up. You can make a difference in a
child's life. |
